About the Role
We are looking for motivated individuals with experience in woodworking or carpentry to join a reputable building materials supplier serving the Twin Cities and Central Minnesota. This hands-on role takes place in a lumber yard environment and involves a variety of production tasks including wood cutting, CNC machine operation, and frame finishing.
If you're detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to learn, this is a great opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive lumber via forklift and cut wood to specified dimensions using a power saw
- Label and stack cut pieces onto designated pallets
- Catch wood from a conveyor belt and stack onto pallets, using a small crane for heavier items
- Operate the Linear Saw machine (Hund-Dinger) — requires basic computer skills and attention to detail
- Assemble and finish frames using nail guns and tape measures, following color-coded prints for accuracy
Essential Skills
- Minimum 6 months of experience with hand or power tools
- Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16" or 1/32" precision
- Strong verbal communication skills — must speak clearly and confidently
- Ability to work quickly and safely in a production environment
Additional Requirements
- Must bring steel-toed boots, hammer, and tape measure on the first day
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
