Job DescriptionMedical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced ***Radiologic Technologist***
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist required. Experience working in an Operating Room and/or Orthopedic setting is strongly preferred.
This is a FULL TIME/TEMP TO HIRE position requiring availability on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, beginning at 7:00 AM. End times vary based on the surgical schedule, with most days ending earlier and typically no later than 5:30 PM. Enjoy a consistent schedule with Thursdays off every week, along with no nights, no weekends, no holidays, and no on-call responsibilities. This position is located in Hampton, VA (23666).
Responsibilities:
- Perform general diagnostic radiologic imaging procedures under the direction of a qualified physician.
- Position patients appropriately to obtain quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Operate radiation-producing equipment, fluoroscopy units (C-Arm), and electronic radiology systems.
- Prepare procedure rooms and radiology equipment for surgical cases.
- Demonstrate proficiency with radiographic generators, fluoroscopy equipment, TV monitors, foot switches, and other imaging equipment.
- Provide intraoperative imaging support during orthopedic procedures, including spine surgeries, hip and spine injections, fracture repairs, hip arthroscopy, and other surgical procedures performed in the Operating Room.
- Maintain proper sterile technique during room preparation, patient preparation, and surgical procedures.
- Select appropriate technical factors based on each patient's individual needs.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and proper image labeling on all radiographs.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and functionality of radiology equipment and procedure rooms.
- Complete imaging studies efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care and image quality.
- Assist with Radiation Safety Officer responsibilities, including:
- Monitoring and maintaining employee dosimeter badges.
- Coordinating inspections and maintenance of lead protective equipment.
- Scheduling and maintaining required inspections of radiology equipment.
- Providing staff education and in-service training related to radiology policies, procedures, and radiation safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Strong knowledge of radiographic imaging equipment and fluoroscopy.
- Ability to maintain sterile technique within an Operating Room environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and surgical staff.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment while maintaining exceptional patient care.
Requirements:
- Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Required: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Required: ARRT certification or ARRT eligibility with the ability to obtain registration within 90 days of hire.
- Required: Current Virginia Radiologic Technologist licensure (if applicable).
- Required: Current BLS Certification.
- Required: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Required: License verification.
- Required: OIG exclusion.
- Required: Flu vaccine.
- Preferred: Operating Room experience.
- Preferred: Orthopedic surgery experience.
- Preferred: Experience utilizing C-Arm fluoroscopy during surgical procedures.
