Your Impact as a Utility Foreman

As a Utility Foreman (Pipe Crew), you will lead field operations and play a critical role in delivering successful underground utility projects. You’ll oversee crews, ensure safety compliance, and drive productivity while maintaining high standards of quality and precision.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical expertise and the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

Key Responsibilities???? Lead the Crew & Drive Safety

  • Supervise and coordinate daily field crew activities
  • Lead safety meetings and enforce all job site safety standards
  • Promote accountability, reliability, and strong team performance

???? Execute Utility Installation

  • Set line, grade, elevations, and lasers with accuracy
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
  • Install pressure pipe, gravity sewer systems, valves, and fittings
  • Perform pipe layout, takeoffs, and system installation
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace piping systems as needed
  • Oversee wellpoint and dewatering operations

???? Oversee Projects & Documentation

  • Ensure work meets specifications, timelines, and quality standards
  • Monitor crew productivity and workmanship
  • Maintain accurate documentation (timesheets, as-builts, reports)
  • Operate independently while managing job site priorities

???? Equipment & Physical Work

  • Operate heavy equipment when required
  • Lift and carry materials up to 40 lbs
  • Work in confined spaces, trenches, and elevated positions

What You BringCore Skills

✔ Strong leadership and communication abilities
✔ Deep knowledge of underground utilities and pipe installation
✔ Ability to read and execute from construction plans
✔ Experience with tools, equipment, and grading instruments

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical training or trade certification (preferred)
  • 5–10 years of experience as a Utility Foreman or similar role
  • Hands-on pipe fitting experience required
  • Experience with field documentation and reporting
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background screening for site access
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules or travel as needed
