Full time 35 hour work week

$60,000 to $65,000, commensurate of experience

PURPOSE and POSITION OVERVIEW:

Clinical Informatics Analyst is a vital member of Bridges Healthcare EIS/Clinical Informatics Team supporting the Clinical Informatics Coordinator responsible for implementing and managing Bridges Healthcare electronic health record (EHR) system and any associated applications/systems supporting our Clinical, Quality Assurance/Compliance and Administrative Staff. As a member of a small team in a fast-paced environment, this role will require both strong intellectual agility and hands-on technical skills.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • System Implementation and Support: Implement, administer, and support assigned systems under the guidance of the CI Manager. Analyze and document user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems. Review system capabilities, workflow, and reporting. Configure security roles and access permissions in compliance with internal policies. Customize templates, forms, and reports within the EHR system to meet organizational requirements. Participate in change control process. Review and analyze the system and performance indicators to locate problems and correct errors. Escalate problems and issues to manager and work with vendors to ensure timely resolution.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Collect, analyze, clinical data to support management decision-making by healthcare providers and management.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs for clinical staff on the use of clinical information systems and data management practices and creating training topics for monthly newsletter.
  • Workflow and Process Improvement: Analyze clinical workflows to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains through the use of information technology. Recommend and implement solutions to streamline processes, reduce errors, and enhance patient care. Participate in process improvement projects.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all clinical information systems comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including HIPAA Security laws and health information standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with healthcare professionals, Quality/Compliance, IT staff, and external vendors to ensure that clinical systems meet the needs of users. Serve as a liaison between clinical, Quality Assurance/Compliance and Enterprise Information Services (EIS) departments to facilitate communication and project coordination.
  • Quality and Performance Improvement: Participate in quality improvement by providing data and analytics support.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES

Education: A bachelor's degree in health informatics, health information management, nursing, or a related field.

Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, especially in clinical informatics, health information management, or IT support roles. Familiarity with clinical workflows, EHR systems, and data analysis tools. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, MS Visio, One Note.

Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in data analysis software and EHR systems, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to train and support clinical staff in the use of technology and the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
