Internship Dates: June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026
Work hours: 7 am - 4 pm (Varies based on projects)
Housing: Butler-Cohen does not provide housing for interns at this time.
What You’ll Do
As an Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple phases of project execution. You’ll work closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to support real-world construction activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and project coordination
- Participate in on-site inspections and safety walkthroughs
- Help prepare estimates, bid packages, and change orders
- Support documentation efforts, including progress reports and RFIs
- Shadow field teams and learn construction logistics and safety protocols
- Research materials, methods, and regulations
- Collaborate with teams to solve problems and improve processes
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Construction Science, Management, Engineering, or related program
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness to work on-site and get hands-on experience
- Must be curious and eager to learn
- Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) – Preferred, not required
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus - Preferred, not required
Working Conditions
- May require extensive travel by vehicle.
- Significant work at construction job sites, during all stages, in all types of weather conditions.
- Must be able to perform activities requiring the use of arms and legs, including climbing ladders/scaffolding, lifting & handling materials, walking & balancing, and stooping.
- Must be able to speak & hear detailed information through oral communication.
- Must be able to see clearly and recognize small details.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on computers.
- Work is performed in an active construction site.
