Internship Dates: June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026

Work hours: 7 am - 4 pm (Varies based on projects)

Housing: Butler-Cohen does not provide housing for interns at this time.

What You’ll Do

As an Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple phases of project execution. You’ll work closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to support real-world construction activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and project coordination
  • Participate in on-site inspections and safety walkthroughs
  • Help prepare estimates, bid packages, and change orders
  • Support documentation efforts, including progress reports and RFIs
  • Shadow field teams and learn construction logistics and safety protocols
  • Research materials, methods, and regulations
  • Collaborate with teams to solve problems and improve processes

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Construction Science, Management, Engineering, or related program
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Willingness to work on-site and get hands-on experience
  • Must be curious and eager to learn
  • Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) – Preferred, not required
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus - Preferred, not required

Working Conditions

  • May require extensive travel by vehicle.
  • Significant work at construction job sites, during all stages, in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to perform activities requiring the use of arms and legs, including climbing ladders/scaffolding, lifting & handling materials, walking & balancing, and stooping.
  • Must be able to speak & hear detailed information through oral communication.
  • Must be able to see clearly and recognize small details.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on computers.
  • Work is performed in an active construction site.
