Job Summary:
This individual will maintain and enhance the organizations human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices as well as recruiting qualified caregivers. They will also facilitate our comprehensive, caregiver training program. Administrative duties as needed.
Human Resource Generalist responsibilities include:
Essential job duties include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
- Understand and adhere to established FirstLight policies and procedures. Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Maintain organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; conduct and analyze exit interviews; recommend internal changes, etc.
- Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs
- Ensure compliance and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and requirements by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource policies and procedures; conduct investigations; maintain records. Maintain historical human resource records.
- General administrative duties as needed such as answering calls/texts, scanning/copying, research, document creation, etc.
- Be willing to train as a caregiver - all administrative staff are trained caregivers and cover emergency shifts as needed
- Assist the Scheduler with matching and scheduling caregivers for client shifts
- Work closely with the Care Coordinator to ensure the best client-caregiver matching
- Perform on-call duties 1 evening/week and 1 weekend every 5+ weeks (an additional on-call bonus is paid)
- Attend job fairs for caregiver recruiting

To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills, and ability required.
- High School diploma or GED
- Two (2) to three (3) years of related recruiting or human resources experience and/or training
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite required.
- Ability to lift at least 25lbs and have full range of motion (bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, lifting)
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Demonstrated ability in or application of organizational/communication skills
