Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make an impact supporting students from preschool through 8th grade by applying your expertise as a School Psychologist in a small, tight-knit district near Newark, NJ. In this contract position, you'll play a pivotal role in helping students reach their fullest potential, working with a manageable caseload and collaborating closely with a dedicated team of educators.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive psychological services to students in grades PK-8.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 45-50 students.
- Conduct assessments and complete evaluations (about 25 annually, based on recent numbers).
- Provide individual and group counseling tailored to a diverse student population.
- Coordinate and manage cases, serving as an advocate for students’ academic and emotional needs.
- Take an active part in Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB) investigations and related initiatives as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create and support effective educational plans.
- Maintain timely and thorough documentation in accordance with school policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid certification or license as a School Psychologist in New Jersey.
- Prior experience as a School Psychologist in a school setting, ideally working with PK-8 students.
- Strong skills in psychoeducational testing, counseling, and case management.
- Understanding of HIB protocols or willingness to become familiar with local regulations.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
- Detail-oriented approach to assessments and documentation.
This is a full day position, with hours from 8:15 AM to 3:20 PM, offering the opportunity to make meaningful connections with students, staff, and families in a small-school environment.
