Overview
Provides medical services in the general care and treatment of patients in outpatient clinic setting. Provides comprehensive medical services for patients on a continuing basis. Examines patients using medical instruments and equipment. Elicits, records, reviews and communicates to patient information about patient’s medical history. Orders or executes various tests to provide information on patient’s condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient. Administers or prescribes treatments and medications. Promotes health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods of prevention of disease. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases. Performs outpatient procedures commensurate with outpatient privileging. Refers patients to specialist for consultant services when necessary for the patient’s well being. Refers patients to Emergency Department for emergent or life threatening conditions. Works collaboratively and cooperatively with ancillary and support staff, peer providers and within the organization.
Position Reports To: Practice Manager
Responsibilities
- Provides care to patients and assigns appropriate aspects of care to non-physician staff. Based on diagnosis and evaluation of the patients, plans and carries out plan for treatment/therapy, informing and educating the patient, making referrals for specialized treatment and following up on progress.
- Completes all charts and dictation (if applicable) within 3 days of visit assuring completeness and accuracy. Each chart will contain a problem list, medication list, and progress notes following a problem-oriented format.
- Is responsible for comprehensive and accurate coding of each patient encounter submitted the day of encounter.
- Coordination of orders being placed in a timely manner.
- Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:
- Active Physician Assistant licensure with prescriptive authority in the state of Washington, required by start date.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with women’s health services.
Desired:
- Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Midwife License.
