Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position offers an opportunity to work as a Special Education Teacher in a K-12 school located in Washington, DC. The role focuses on supporting students within a bilingual Latin American school environment, with a preference for candidates fluent in Spanish. The contract runs for the current school year, beginning as soon as possible and ending at the end of the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized special education instruction tailored to students unique needs in grades K-12
  • Collaborate with bilingual staff to support a culturally rich and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to maximize learning outcomes
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and maintain documentation according to district guidelines
  • Coordinate with paraprofessionals or other support staff as provided by the school district

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in special education settings K-12
  • Spanish bilingual skills highly preferred to support the schools community
  • Special Education certification is preferred but not mandatory
  • Flexible availability for full or part-time schedules between 8:00 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a diverse school environment

  • Washington, DC, within a bilingual Latin American K-12 school
  • Flexible hours with the core schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
  • Assigned to one school
