Position Overview
The Cabin Operations Specialist (Aviation Systems Specialist) is a dual-qualified aviation professional responsible for ensuring passenger safety, comfort, and operational integrity throughout all phases of flight. This role merges the expertise of a flight attendant with the technical knowledge and troubleshooting ability of a flight mechanic, allowing the specialist to serve as both a frontline safety leader and a systems support technician. Ideal candidates are highly adaptable individuals who can seamlessly transition between cabin service excellence, aircraft systems monitoring, and technical support duties — ensuring the safety and reliability of aircraft operations and passenger experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Cabin Operations & Passenger Service

- Perform all standard flight attendant duties including passenger assistance, safety briefings, in-flight service, and cabin preparation for takeoff and landing.
- Enforce compliance with FAA and company safety standards.
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight cabin inspections to ensure safety and operational readiness.
- Assist in emergency procedures including evacuations, decompressions, and onboard incident management.
- Provide exceptional customer service with professionalism and discretion,.
- Technical & Mechanical Support

- Conduct pre-flight and in-flight equipment inspections in collaboration with flight crew and maintenance teams.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report minor cabin system malfunctions (e.g., lighting, oxygen systems, seat actuators, galley equipment).
- Perform basic in-flight maintenance or resets where permitted under company and regulatory procedures.
- Communicate real-time technical issues to the flight deck and ground maintenance personnel for accurate reporting and resolution.
- Assist in post-flight mechanical assessments, including documentation of discrepancies or irregularities.
- Support aircraft maintenance operations during ground time when required (e.g., AOG recovery, troubleshooting support, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance).
- Safety & Compliance

- Conduct routine safety equipment inspections and report deficiencies immediately.
- Maintain familiarity with aircraft systems relevant to the cabin (pressurization, environmental, communication, and emergency systems).
- Ensure cabin technical manuals, checklists, and maintenance logs are up to date and properly documented.
- Participate in safety audits, line checks, and quality assurance reviews.
- Collaborate with flight and maintenance teams during irregular operations and emergency procedures.
- Training & Development

- Participate in recurrent training for both cabin operations and aircraft technical systems.
- Provide mentorship to standard cabin crew on safety and minor mechanical procedures.
- Assist in developing and implementing procedures for in-flight maintenance and cabin technical readiness.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory updates, equipment upgrades, and manufacturer service bulletins relevant to cabin systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of aviation maintenance or flight mechanic experience (line maintenance, cabin systems, or avionics preferred).
- Experience with VIP, charter, or corporate operations highly desirable.
- Strong technical aptitude with understanding of aircraft systems and maintenance principles.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and remain calm in emergencies.
- Physically fit and compliant with aviation crew duty requirements.
- Detail-oriented with strong recordkeeping and procedural discipline.
- Capable of working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams (flight crew, engineers, operations staff).
- Commitment to safety, precision, and continuous learning.
- Must possess an active Secret (or TS/SCI) security clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
