Safety Manager

GenPro is focused on four major industry sectors including solar power solutions, solar lighting systems, solar water pumping and filtration, and cleantech product distribution.
Primary Function:
GenPro Energy is seeking an experienced and qualified safety professional to support operations throughout the Midwest. The Safety Manager plans, directs and implements the organization’s safety programs including program development, performance measurement, training and administration.
Reporting Relationship: Chief Operating Officer
Pay Grade Range: $93,905 to $129,589
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure that all construction activities comply with OSHA standards, local safety regulations, and company policies working closely with Director of EPC Construction, Construction Managers and construction site leads.
- Develop, implement, monitor and communicate safety programs, protocols, and procedures with on-site trade partners, subcontractors, and GenPro employees, ensuring safety is part of our culture and that all new hires have proper safety documents, training, and information.
- Manage the health, environmental, and safety manual and ensure it is updated and communicate regularly.
- Conduct regular documented safety and health inspections to ensure industry-leading best practices are standard behavior.
- Coordinate with construction supervisors and managers so that necessary protective equipment and safety materials are utilized, adequate first aid materials are available, and safety documents are posted on-site.
- Investigate all injuries and near misses and review all incident reports, coordinating corrective measures with GenPro employees and logging injuries/illnesses for OSHA purposes.
- Minimize construction hazards and enforce safety policies utilizing the company’s disciplinary policy.
- Responsible for the content, frequency, and effectiveness of Site-Specific Safety Plans, safety training materials and programs, safety, Procore safety inspections, correspondence, directives, citations, etc. to the Director of EPC Construction for tracking.
- Develop and implement Site Specific Safety Plans for individual projects to be included in project contracts, and act as the primary contract for project developers and owners.
- Manage company pre-qualification applications, such as ISNnetworld.
- Manage all company safety statistics such as OSHA300A reports, TCIR, DART, etc. Report out to leadership team on a regular basis to communicate overall safety performance and provide recommendations for areas of improvement.
- Manage all federal and state safety, environment, and health reporting on a quarterly and annual basis ensuring strict compliance.
- Assist in developing task specific work planning processes and audit performance adherence.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 8 years large scale commercial, government, or industrial project management experience, including at least 4 years management level safety profession experience.
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety and Industry Standards plus familiarity with DOE 10 CFR Part 851 highly desirable.
Knowledge:
- Working technical knowledge of PV solar installations strongly desired.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management processes required.
- Working knowledge of crisis management protocols.

- Competent in Microsoft office Word, PowerPoint, Excel to draft/edit policies and procedures.
- EPC industry experience.

Special Requirements:
- Travel will be required.
- Passport eligible.
