The Mechanical Project Manager for Operations and Maintenance at Central Heating & Cooling Plant serving a large federal building complex.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facility Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance and repair activities
- Monitor and assess the condition of buildings, infrastructure, and equipment to identify maintenance and improvement needs.
- Oversee the development and execution of preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards in facility management.
2. Project Planning and Execution:
- Collaborate with various teams to plan and execute capital improvement projects
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines, and obtain necessary approvals.
- Oversee the selection of contractors, vendors, and service providers and manage their performance.
- Monitor and report on project progress, including budget and schedule adherence.
3. Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage the budget for facility maintenance and capital improvement projects.
- Evaluate and optimize resource allocation to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Implement cost-saving measures and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
4. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to facility management and safety.
- Implement and oversee safety protocols and emergency response plans.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
5. Stakeholder Communication:
- Collaborate with government representatives, government agencies, and internal stakeholders to address their facility needs and concerns.
- Maintain open lines of communication with all relevant parties and ensure excellent customer service.
6. Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and projects.
- Prepare regular reports on the status of facility management activities and project outcomes.
- Document and archive all project-related information for future reference.
Qualifications:
At a minimum, resume shall address and contain ALL of the following:
The Project Manager must hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) and
have a minimum of five years' experience managing the construction, operation, or maintenance of maritime or industrial plants as well one
of the following licenses/degrees:
Washington DC, Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, Board of Industrial Trades, Class 1 – Steam Engineer License with 15 years relevant work experience.
National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, Inc. (NIULPE) First Class Power Engineer License with 15 years relevant work experience.
Mechanical engineering degree from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited institution with 10 years relevant work experience.
Project Managers shall obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background check.
