JOB DESRIPTION


We are a leading millwork shop in Kansas City seeking experienced and enthusiastic working Finish Carpenters who can perform in a diverse range of environments installing fixtures, casework and millwork in commercial and retail environments. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, can work effectively under minimal supervision, and will operate automated tools and manual equipment ensuring high-quality assembly and production. Responsibilities include reading shop drawings, setting up equipment, using powered woodworking equipment and hand tools, and collaborating with team members to meet project goals. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, with possible overtime.


REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience: Five (5) years millwork fabrication, installation and retail or commercial finish carpentry experience.

Physical Demands: Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, work in both a production and construction environment. Frequent bending, kneeling, twisting and squatting. Work with materials over your head for short durations. Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Must be able to pass a Drug Screening, Criminal Background Check and MVR screening for approved driving status.

Available to work overtime as needed.

Able to travel and be away from home for durations from 2-8 weeks depending on project needs

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS PACKAGE

Company provides Health, Dental, 401k, Reimbursement for travel expenses. Pay range is $20 - $30 per hour and is based on demonstrated experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Must have a strong commitment to job site safety including always maintaining a clean jobsite.

Able to complete onsite millwork, cabinet and casework, fixture, graphic and décor installs in commercial and retail environments.

Able to repair, restore, or re-create historic millwork to original specifications.

Perform all tasks of a finish carpenter including installation of cabinets, countertops, standing and running trim (base, chair rail, crown moldings, door and window casings), scribing, coping, installing wall panel systems, commercial fixtures, etc.

Able to evaluate site conditions, construction and delivery schedules and when these factors are not aligned, clearly and effectively communicate to Project Management Team, onsite contractor or when necessary, our client.

Able to establish and understand layouts for millwork, fixtures and other elements.

Ability to work in a team environment while maintaining professionalism.

Able to professionally interact with clients, general contractors and other sub-contractors.

Strong working knowledge of woodworking hand and power tools.

Strong working knowledge and understanding of architectural drawings, shop drawings and fixturing floorplans.
