Provide expert critical care nursing in a fast-paced ICU environment where your skills directly impact patient outcomes. Key responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, developing and implementing care plans, administering intravenous fluids and medications, and assisting physicians with procedures. You will monitor vital signs, manage advanced medical equipment such as ventilators and intra-aortic balloon pumps, provide suctioning, and respond rapidly to life-threatening situations. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary critical care team and advocacy for patients health and education of their families are essential components of this role. The position may also involve caring for pre- and post-operative patients as well as participation in case management or administrative duties.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Alabama RN license or multi-state RN license
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU nursing experience
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications through the American Heart Association
- Strong critical care clinical skills and experience with patient assessment and advanced life support
- Ability to operate and adjust critical ICU equipment (ventilators, IABP, monitors)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
