Job Title- Respiratory Therapist - Adult
Location: Winston-Salem, NC 27157
Shift: 12-hour nights, 18:30–07:00
Schedule: Every other weekend, 75% holiday coverage, no on-call
We are seeking an experienced Adult Respiratory Therapist to join a high-acuity, Level 1 Trauma, Academic Medical Center. The RT will provide care across ICU and Medical/Surgical settings based on departmental needs and assigned patient workload.

Responsibilities
-
Deliver respiratory care to adult patients with varying acuity levels.

Support patients with diagnoses such as post-surgical conditions, pneumonia, COPD, asthma, and emergency department needs.

Work within ICU areas and Medical/Surgical floors as assigned.

Collaborate with lead therapists and the broader care team in a strong teamwork environment.

Maintain safe, effective, and patient-centered respiratory therapy practice.
Required Qualifications
-
Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy critical care experience.

North Carolina Respiratory Therapist license.
-
Registered Respiratory Therapist RRTRRT credential.
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
-
Critical care experience required.
-
Preferred experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center or other high-acuity setting.

First-time travelers considered.
Preferred Experience
-
EPIC experience.
-
Familiarity with respiratory equipment including Servo U, Servo Air, The Vest, Volara, Aerogen, Heated High Flow, and cough assist.

If pediatric exposure is relevant, HFJV and HFOV experience preferred.
Department Details

Lead Therapists available on each shift.
-
Adult and Pediatric Lead Therapists provide support.

No floating requirement; assignment based on traveler experience and unit needs.

Orientation includes NEO plus 1–2 departmental days.

Schedule cycle is every 6 weeks.

RTO subject to manager approval.

Scrub color: Pewter / charcoal grey.
