This is not a maintenance role.
This is a capture-to-award growth leadership opportunity with direct impact on company revenue, strategy, and market expansion.
What You’ll Own
As Director of Business Development, you will lead the identification, capture, and pursuit of new federal and state opportunities across the healthcare services and medical staffing space.
You will:
- Identify, qualify, and shape new opportunities within agencies such as:
- Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
- Department of Defense (DoD)
- Defense Health Agency (DHA)
- Health and Human Services (HHS)
- Other federal and state entities
- Lead capture strategy from early positioning through proposal and award
- Build and maintain relationships with contracting officers, program leaders, and industry partners
- Manage and respond to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and Sources Sought
- Conduct market intelligence, competitive analysis, and pipeline development
- Partner with leadership to define and execute growth strategy
- Collaborate with recruiting, operations, and proposal teams to build winning solutions
- Identify and evaluate teaming, partnership, and acquisition opportunities

What Success Looks Like
You’re a strong fit if you:
- Have a proven track record winning federal contracts
- Understand the federal acquisition lifecycle and FAR/DFARS environment
- Are comfortable owning pipeline, capture strategy, and client relationships
- Know how to position early and build relationships before the RFP drops
- Are energized by growth targets, revenue impact, and competitive pursuits
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of federal business development or capture experience (healthcare or services preferred)
- Demonstrated success identifying and winning government contracts
- Experience with federal procurement processes, FAR/DFARS
- Familiarity with tools such as GovWin, SAM.gov, or similar platforms
- Strong proposal writing and executive presentation skills
- Ability to travel for client meetings and industry events
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare staffing or healthcare services
- Existing relationships within VA, DoD, DHA, or HHS
- Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPA, or related)
