• Days: 5 days a week, Tuesday - Saturday
• Hours: 0700 - 1330

Weekend and holiday availability may be required based on facility needs.

Spring Grove Recovery is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and compassionate Housekeeper to join our team.

Spring Grove Recovery provides residential treatment services for individuals experiencing substance use disorders and related behavioral health needs. We believe that a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment is an important part of the recovery process.

As a Housekeeper, you will play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of our facility. This position interacts regularly with patients and staff and requires professionalism, respect, discretion, dependability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe treatment environment.

Position Summary

The ideal Housekeeper is organized, efficient, proactive, and attentive to detail. This individual takes pride in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment and understands the importance of infection control and safety within a residential behavioral health facility.

Successful candidates will be comfortable working independently while also collaborating with other departments. They should be dependable, receptive to feedback, respectful toward individuals receiving treatment, and willing to assist wherever needed to support facility operations.

Essential Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, offices, hallways, restrooms, treatment areas, and other assigned areas according to established procedures.
• Interact with patients, visitors, and employees in a respectful, professional, and cooperative manner.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen and dining areas as assigned.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, disinfect, and perform other routine housekeeping duties.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces according to infection-control procedures.
• Empty trash and properly dispose of waste according to facility procedures.
• Follow applicable procedures for handling potentially contaminated materials, bodily fluids, and other biohazard concerns.
• Stock and maintain housekeeping and sanitation supplies, including soap, paper products, cleaning products, and other necessary materials.
• Monitor supply levels and notify the appropriate supervisor when additional supplies are needed.
• Properly use, clean, store, and maintain housekeeping equipment.
• Immediately report damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
• Identify and report facility maintenance concerns, including damaged furniture, plumbing problems, electrical concerns, leaks, and other repair needs.
• Assist with facility laundry, linens, towels, bedding, and other laundry responsibilities as assigned.
• Follow infection-prevention and infection-control practices.
• Follow appropriate procedures regarding patient privacy, confidentiality, dignity, and rights.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries when interacting with patients.
• Immediately report safety hazards, spills, damaged equipment, environmental concerns, or emergency situations.
• Follow chemical-handling requirements, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) instructions, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure cleaning chemicals and potentially hazardous materials are properly labeled, secured, and stored away from unauthorized access.
• Participate in required orientation, safety, infection-control, emergency-preparedness, and other assigned training.
• Follow Spring Grove Recovery policies, procedures, and workplace expectations.
• Maintain dependable attendance and arrive prepared to work scheduled shifts.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with patients, coworkers, visitors, vendors, and leadership.
• Accept constructive feedback and demonstrate a willingness to improve performance.
• Communicate concerns or unusual observations to the appropriate supervisor while respecting patient confidentiality.
• Assist other departments with appropriate facility-related duties when requested.
• Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned by the Facilities Manager, Executive Director, or other authorized leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
• Two years of housekeeping, environmental services, custodial, hospitality, healthcare, or related experience preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or environmental-services experience in healthcare, behavioral health, residential treatment, assisted living, hospital, or similar settings is preferred.
• Experience or interest in working in a substance-use disorder or behavioral health treatment environment is preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow cleaning, sanitation, infection-control, and safety procedures.
• Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize assigned responsibilities.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to maintain patient and organizational confidentiality.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
