The Fleet Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of vehicle repair and maintenance operations to ensure proper performance and safety of all vehicles and equipment. This includes supervising daily activities of the shop crew to ensure efficient performance and safety of all crew members.
Duties Include:
- Directing and performing the maintenance, repair and overhaul of vehicles & equipment
- Maintaining an up-to-date preventive maintenance schedule for vehicles & equipment
- Record keeping of accrued reports for miles and hours of vehicles and equipment
- Maintains inventory of vehicles/equipment
- Inspecting and diagnosing vehicles & equipment to determine necessary repairs
- Performing spot inspections to ensure quality standards have been met
- Overseeing repair orders and estimates costs of labor and parts
- Partnering with Safety Manager to ensure employees are compliant with safety training.
- Take an active role in accident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Ensuring OSHA rules and regulations and company environmental safety and health policies
- Ensure O DOT and FMCSA rules & regulations related to maintenance, repair and inspections of vehicles & equipment are adhered to
- ASE Certification
- Remain current on the latest technology regarding maintenance and repair of all vehicles & equipment
- Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience working within an equipment/vehicle repair shop environment
- 3+ years’ experience supervising others, directing workflow and managing administrative duties of a repair shop
- Knowledge of the diagnosis, maintenance and repair of heavy, light duty vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair
- Ability to direct and supervise personnel and coordinate shop operations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel We are an equal opportunity employer.
