We are a team-oriented and fast-paced office looking to hire a full-time employee. The MEDICAL ASSISTANT POSITION LEVEL I is an entry-level training position designed to transition the candidate into a neurology medical assistant. The position involves interacting with patients, health insurance companies, and other physician offices.

Primary responsibilities for the MEDICAL ASSISTANT POSITION LEVEL I include:

* Reviewing patient information including medical history, medications history, and past visits in coordination with message created through artificial intelligence to respond to patient needs.

* Verifying patient information in-person or virtually interviewing the patient; recording medical history; recording medications; confirming the purpose of the visit; transferring patient diagnostic information from the patient records into a neurology consultation note.

* Prepares patients for examination by taking blood pressure, weight, and height, reporting patient history summary to the medical practitioners.

* Document patient encounters, E/M visits, or procedures performed in the office, maintaining electronic medical records.

* Taking ownership of assignments to improve patient experience and satisfaction by attending to prescription refills requests, patient care coordination, and acting on communication with the practitioners.

* Support practitioners and senior medical assistants with skin biopsies, headache injections, and Botox reconstitution procedures. Providing and collecting consent forms for procedures.

* Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about procedures and medications.

* Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential.

* Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.


Secondary responsibilities for the MEDICAL ASSISTANT POSITION LEVEL I include supporting staff through:

* Coordinating and scheduling treatment dates for authorized procedures.

* Processing medical records and completing correspondences with supporting documentation

* Counsels patients about lab or imaging results

* Faxing completed referral notes to referring physicians.

* Collecting demographic and financial information to schedule new patients.

* Directing patients through patient portal registration, updating demographics, and completing medical documentation online

Ideal candidates are meticulous and detail-oriented. The candidate must be able to multitask while working in a fast-paced environment.

Scheduling requirements 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Thursday; 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Friday, with some Fridays requiring a 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM schedule.

The selected candidate will serve a ninety (90) calendar day introductory period. After the introductory period, you will earn up to 10 paid days of personal time off and 5 paid holidays. Individual and family insurance is available at the candidate's expense.
