The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for reviewing documentation such as records, procedures, and forms to ensure quality endpoints and compliance requirements are achieved. The role involves actively leading and contributing to data relevant to Quality Systems Compliance during periodic Management Review meetings. The specialist will assist Quality Management in coordinating and participating in Quality or Compliance-related projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct product tests and assessments in an industrial or warehouse setting to ensure specifications are met and products function as intended.
- Perform in-process and final product/result inspections and clearances on the production floor to ensure consistency.
- Identify product defects or potential issues and determine resolutions.
- Analyze lab or usability test results to identify defects and prevent recurrence.
- Maintain detailed records of product defects or manufacturing issues to aid in accountability and error reporting.
- Notify supervisors or plant managers of issues or defect reports to assist in manufacturing process decisions.
- Support process improvements throughout testing and quality assurance processes.
- Suggest improvements to address systemic problems identified during quality control.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in documentation and laboratory procedures.
- Understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree within a scientific discipline.
- 1+ years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or laboratory settings.
- Knowledge in chemistry, biology, data entry, SOP, and GMP.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred experience in a regulated environment.
- Experience with document control and laboratory settings.
Work Environment
The position is based in a laboratory environment where the Quality Control Specialist will conduct quality control reviews (without performing testing). The role includes a shift schedule from Sunday to Thursday, 11 PM to 7:30 AM, with a training schedule from Sunday to Wednesday, 8 AM to 6:30 PM. The work environment is clean and regulated, offering a friendly company culture and opportunities for growth. Training involves exposure to different testing benches, shadowing technologists, and learning computer applications. A competency assessment will be conducted after three weeks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
