Job Title: Associate Director
Location: Brunswick County
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Director to join our YMCA team in Brunswick County. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Youth Services Regional Director in the overall management and strategic direction of our organization. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment. Under the direction and guidance of the Youth Services Regional Program Director and consistent with the mission and policies of the YMCA of Southeastern NC, the Associate Director is fully dedicated to the YMCA programs in Brunswick County, and they are responsible for the oversight of the Afterschool program and Summer Camp programs at the locations we are in. The associate director serves as the primary daily face to face contact for YMCA coworkers, faculty, parents, and guardians and helps establish the afterschool program and summer camp at the assigned facility. The Director must have the competencies, skills, and proven leadership ability to successfully carry out the YMCA mission, goals, and vision for serving the community. The Director will provide direction for the program and classroom, implement program curriculum, and provide a quality experience to children and parents
that focuses on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
2. Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
4. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
5. Ensures parents are kept informed of all site and program activities and communicates both positive and negative behavior of children to parents.
6. Conducts parent conferences and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers.
7. Perform daily administrative work as needed such as filing, copying, record keeping, organization, customer service (including emails and phone calls).
8. Maintains program site and equipment.
9. Maintains required program records including attendance sheets, incident sheets, and behavior reports; maintains CACFP and SFSP records.
10. Attends and participates in family events, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
11. Follows and implements the Healthy Eating and Physical Activity standards.
12. Trains new staff on current YMCA policies and procedures.
13. Supervises afterschool and summer camp counselors; modify the schedule as necessary to maintain appropriate staff to student ratios and remain within budget
14. Develop relationships with school and community stakeholders to further deepen the YMCA and school relationship.
15. Assist the Director in developing and implementing organizational strategies and goals.
16. Provide leadership and guidance to staff, promoting professional development and teamwork.
17. Represent the organization at community events and meetings as needed.
18. Visit Brunswick County after-school sites to ensure efficient and effective operation

Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a similar organization.
- Strong understanding of program management and organizational development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
-CPR, First Aid, AED certification within 30 days of hire date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities.
