Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position in Chattanooga, TN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and proficiency with ventilators, arterial lines, and IV drip titration.
Details
- 9-bed ICU unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Patient ratios of 2:1 and 3:1
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Self-scheduling with manager oversight, including 3–4 weekend shifts per schedule block
- Travelers are required to float to Med-Surg or ED as needed for critical staffing needs
- Equipment used includes ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, and GE monitors
- Documentation via Meditech
- Procedures performed on the unit include intubation, central line insertions, and arterial line insertions
- All-RN staffing model with no unit secretaries or techs
Requirements
- Active TN or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — all must be AHA or ARC issued and must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Proficiency with ventilator management, IV drip titration, and arterial line management required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Facility holds Chest Pain Center and Stroke Accreditation designations
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- One professional reference is required (two references required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
