Job Description

WLMB-TV 40 & RadiantTV (Toledo, Ohio)

POSITION SUMMARY

Help bring quality, Christ-centered programming to life! We’re looking for a versatile video production team member who can shoot, light, edit, color grade, direct, produce, design, lead projects, and “do it all” for both WLMB-TV 40 and RadiantTV programming. You’ll focus on productions in the field and in the studio for TV shows, commercials, promotions, and PSAs. Candidates should be detail-oriented, creative, and professional. A working knowledge of production tools is required. Familiarity with computer systems and troubleshooting in a production environment is a plus. Position reports to the Senior VP of Production.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a key part of our production team, you’ll wear a few hats:

• Producer/Director – Support the creative and technical sides of our regular TV productions (including live),

RadiantTV, and a broad assortment of short-form spots.

• Video Editor – Use Davinci Resolve, FCP X, and/or other software tools to craft inspiring videos either by initiating new ideas or by closely following directions. You should be creative, have a strong grasp of design fundamentals, and be familiar with post-production editing, compositing, and creating motion graphics. Color grading skills are also a necessary part of the post-production process for RadiantTV.

- Cinematographer - Use Sony camera equipment to capture footage for RadiantTV. Must have a good eye for composition and lighting. This applies to both WLMB television productions and field work for RadiantTV.

Knowledge of how to use software tools like After Effects, Motion, Photoshop, Lightroom, Pro Presenter or 3D programs are a plus.

• Studio & Field Production – Shoot video in the studio or on location using professional video, sound and lighting gear (includes occasional trips to U.S. National Parks). You’ll need to know how to set up gear, use lenses, set lights, run audio, and understand composition to capture apt visuals—and be ready to occasionally hike or lift heavy gear when needed.

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate should be able to meet deadlines, be creative under pressure, and collaborate easily with both staff and clients. They should be proactive, detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects at once, and possess the ability to solve problems. The candidate should also have a short professional-looking demo reel representing some of your best work over the last couple of years.

TIME REQUIREMENTS

Office hours generally fall between Monday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, work outside of these hours is expected at times—particularly during occasional special projects, events, and/or fundraisers. This may include evenings, weekends, and a few times per year, travel to destinations across the U.S. for several days at a time.

TO APPLY

Please email Aaron Darr, Senior Vice-President of Production, at production@wlmb.com with an attached demo reel/website link, resume, and cover letter. If your submissions are selected for further consideration, you will be notified and asked to completely fill out WLMB’s application, which includes signing WLMB’s statement of faith.
