Position Title: Multimedia Designer

Department: Marketing and Communications

Reports To: Associate Creative Director

FLSA Status: Exempt


Position Summary:

Working in a fast-paced environment as part of the marketing team, the Multimedia Designer will be responsible for assisting with design and graphic representation for all O-pa materials, programs and initiatives in accordance with O-pa branding. The candidate should be creative, aware of current trends in the visual arts with working knowledge of Adobe and a general understanding of costs and timelines associated with production of materials. Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs and develops materials such as, but not limited to: content for web, social media, digital media, digital signage, emails, presentations, flyers, direct mail pieces, letters, invitations, brochures, etc.
  • Reinforces O-pa’s brand voice through visual and digital touchpoints and manages/maintains O-pa brand guidelines across all materials.
  • Designs and produces animations, motion graphics, and special effects using Adobe software.
  • Incorporates motion graphics into content for various platforms.
  • Integrates audio elements into multimedia projects.
  • Collaborates with various departments, stakeholders, and the creative director to meet critical milestones and achieve project goals.
  • Performs research and gathers materials to create visuals that align with creative strategy.
  • Researches and proposes site design improvements.
  • Collaborates with the video production manager to manage O-pa’s digital signage.
  • Works with print vendors on printing needs, quotes and order fulfillment.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Graphic Design and Multimedia Design required.
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector and an interest in the performing arts preferred.
  • Must have artistic and creative thinking ability for designing eye-catching and effective materials.
  • Proven ability to develop strategies for layouts and artistic concepts. Must be able to create static and dynamic visuals that engage, attract and sell.
  • Solid understanding of design methodologies, superior typography, color and layout skills and ability to use a wide range of media.
  • Ability to create new and original ideas.
  • Responsive to changes in the workplace and ability to adjust to shifting priorities.
  • Works well independently, after receiving project direction, within the team structure.
  • Required to be meticulous, thorough and have an attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Requires excellent communication skills to convey ideas.
  • Familiarity with web design and development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro).

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university or college

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Physical Demands:

  • No physical exertion required.
  • Required to sit for long periods of time.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • Must be free from color blindness.

Equipment/Machinery Used:

  • Proficient in Mac and PC operating systems and possess strong computer skills using Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft applications.
