Join our growing Behavioral Health Services Division as a Peer Specialist supporting individuals across CCBHC High Acuity and/or General Outpatient levels of care. In this vital role, you'll use your personal recovery experience and professional training to support clients on their recovery journey, helping them make meaningful and lasting lifestyle changes. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll empower clients through advocacy, mentorship, and strength-based support.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a role model, demonstrating recovery-oriented principles across high acuity and/or outpatient settings.
- Provide peer support services in a variety of settings, including office-based, community-based, and in clients’ homes, based on level of care and clinical need.
- Support individuals in identifying strengths, setting goals, and developing effective coping strategies.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to promote independence, self-advocacy, and sustained recovery.
- Assist individuals in navigating behavioral health systems, community resources, and social supports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support individualized treatment planning and care coordination.
- Document all client encounters in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) within 48 hours, in accordance with agency standards.
- Maintain productivity and documentation standards consistent with program expectations.
Schedule: This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Rhode Island State Certification as a Peer Specialist or Wellness Coach
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation with insurance (travel required)
- Lived experience with recovery and a willingness to share insights appropriately
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
