Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide high-quality nursing care in a specialized step-down unit focusing on complex surgical and trauma patients. This contract role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including those recovering from bariatric, urology, hepatobiliary, colorectal surgeries, and trauma with abdominal injuries. You will be an essential part of a multidisciplinary team ensuring excellent patient outcomes in a dynamic setting.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to step-down patients with complex surgical needs
- Manage postoperative care for patients including wound care and serial debridements
- Collaborate with the healthcare team for effective patient treatment plans
- Float between departments and units as required to meet facility needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold safety standards on the unit
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, preferably in step-down, MS/Tele, or PCU settings
- Active RN license (pending licenses considered)
- BLS and NIH certification required
- Comfortable working nights (3 shifts, 12 hours each)
- Able to work 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period
- Ability to float within scope of practice between units and facilities as needed
- Experience caring for complex surgical patients, including bariatric, urology, gastrointestinal, colorectal, and trauma cases
Schedule / Hours:
- Night shift: 18:45 to 07:15
- 3 night shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Weekend shifts required per schedule
