We are a construction company that takes pride in our people, our equipment, and how we operate. Our trucks, tools, and equipment represent our company in the field every day. We are looking for a Shop Manager who treats all company assets like their own and holds the shop to a high mechanical and organizational standard.

Position Summary

The Shop Manager is responsible for the maintenance, repair, organization, and overall condition of all company equipment, trucks, trailers, tools, and shop assets. This role requires a strong mechanical background, a clean and organized mindset, and the ability to manage systems that keep the company running efficiently. This person sets the standard for the shop and is accountable for how it looks, functions, and supports field operations.

Key Responsibilities

Company Equipment, Trucks & Fleet

● Maintain, inspect, and repair all company trucks, vehicles, trailers, tools, and construction equipment

● Schedule and track preventative maintenance for the entire fleet and equipment inventory

● Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs in-house or coordinate with outside vendors

● Ensure all equipment is safe, operational, and job-ready

● Maintain detailed service, inspection, and repair records for all company assets

Shop Operations, Cleanliness & Organization

● Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop at all times

● Implement and enforce tool control, equipment storage, labeling, and organization systems

● Ensure parts, tools, and materials are properly stored and easy to locate

● Maintain shop safety standards and compliance

Leadership & Accountability

● Lead by example with work ethic, attention to detail, and professionalism

● Hold shop personnel and users of company equipment accountable for cleanliness and care

● Coordinate with field supervisors and management to prioritize equipment needs

● Communicate equipment status, downtime, and repair timelines clearly

Inventory & Cost Control

● Manage parts, supplies, and shop inventory

● Order parts and materials as needed while controlling costs

● Track equipment usage, repairs, and downtime to improve efficiency and planning

Required Qualifications

● Strong mechanical background with hands-on experience

● Experience working on trucks, construction equipment, and fleet vehicles

● Highly organized with a strong focus on cleanliness and structure

● Ability to manage multiple assets and priorities

● Reliable, accountable, and self-motivated

● Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

● Previous shop manager, fleet manager, or lead mechanic experience

● Construction or heavy equipment experience

● Ability to train and supervise others

● Basic computer skills for tracking maintenance and inventory
