Job Description
Hiring motivated Class A drivers, with priority for recent trucking school graduates, to operate long-haul freight with a focus on maximizing mileage and handling straightforward loads.
- Compensation: Mileage pay of $0.55 to $0.65 CPM; projected weekly earnings approximately $1,375 to $1,700 based on about 2,500–2,800 miles per week; estimated annual pay $70,000 to $85,000.
- Trainee program: Trainees are paid $650 per week during training, which includes roughly 250–300 hours of driving. After training, drivers move to solo status with a starting rate of $0.55 CPM. Training will involve OTR driving due to a limited number of trainers.
- Load handling: Primarily drop-and-hook shipments, approximately 50% of loads.
- Stop pay: $15 per stop; most runs involve 1–2 stops.
- Home time: Scheduled every two weeks for two days, with efforts to coordinate home time with weekends when possible (not guaranteed).
- Pet and rider policy: Pets or riders are permitted after completion of training; neither are allowed during the training period.
- Requirements: Minimum age 21; valid Class A CDL; no DOT-preventable accidents resulting in damages over $1,750 in the past 2 years; no major accidents with damages or claims exceeding $2,500; any DOT-preventable accident within the last 5 years will disqualify applicants; no more than two preventable incidents in the past 2 years (for incidents under $1,750 in damages); not terminated from a prior position for safety-related reasons; no DUI in a commercial vehicle in the last 5 years and no failed or refused DOT drug or alcohol tests.
- Ideal candidate: A CDL-A driver seeking to maximize miles and earnings while minimizing complex freight handling.
