Job Description: Surgical Science Liaison
The Surgical Science Liaison serves as the bridge between our organization's scientific initiatives and key stakeholders. This role focuses on translating complex scientific information between R&D teams, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), clinical development, and marketing departments to drive innovation and ensure scientific accuracy in all communications.
This role is based in a Kerecis office and reports to the Director of Clinical Affairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead study design discussions with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and Clinical Development team for Randomized-Controlled Trials (RCTs) and Investigator-Initiated Studies (IISs)
- Facilitate site training for RCTs and IISs, provide overall study design support
- Develop and maintain relationships with HCPs and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to gather scientific insights for Clinical Development studies and key strategic initiatives
- Identify and evaluate research ideas from the field, conducting preliminary analysis before presenting to clinical development teams
- Translate complex research findings into accessible training materials for medical affairs and sales teams
- Partner with Marketing to ensure scientific accuracy and integrity in core messaging
- Synthesize scientific data to support development of educational content and materials
- Stay current with scientific developments in relevant therapeutic areas
- Represent the company at scientific conferences and professional meetings
- Facilitate scientific exchange between external experts and internal teams
- Provide scientific expertise to cross-functional teams when needed
- Work cross-functionally between R&D, Clinical Affairs, Medical Education & Marketing departments
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

- Superior communication abilities, with talent for translating complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with researchers and healthcare professionals
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources
Education & Experience
- Advanced scientific degree in relevant scientific field (e.g., life sciences, biochemistry, pharmacology, or related discipline) from an accredited college or university, Ph.D. preferred
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry
- Experience working with Key Opinion Leaders
- Statistical analysis and design experience for research studies
Anticipated travel: 10-20%
