    Certification Details
  • ASCP or equivalent agency certification
  • Current and valid State of Hawaii license
    Job Details
  • Performs specialized and complex technical tasks involved in screening slides of clinical specimens to detect evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions.
    Job Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in science related field
  • Successful completion of a 12-month CAHEA accredited Cytotechnology Program
  • Current certification or registration by ASCP or equivalent agency
  • Current and valid State of Hawaii license
  • Computer literate in applications such as LIS, Network, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong problem-solving and decision making skills required
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent English communication (verbal and written) skills, including by telephone
    Schedule Information
  • May be asked to work occasional irregular or extended hours
    Unit Specific Information
  • Maintains certification through successful renewal by the ASCP BOC, if applicable
  • Performs daily maintenance of microscope and cleans workplace
  • Keeps abreast of all regulations governing cytology screening, safety and compliance
    Additional Details
