We are currently seeking a skilled and high-producing mortgage processor to work with the mortgage loan officers on our team. $20 - $25 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Interview prospective loan applicants and assist them in finding the best loan products for their needs
- Order property and loan documentation such as appraisals, inspections, title searches, site surveys, contracts, and property tax records to help process mortgage loan files
- Adhere to all lending and regulatory guidelines and policies while preparing the loan file
- Serve as a liaison between borrowers, mortgage brokers and loan officers, real estate agents, and mortgage lending underwriters to support loan approval
- Prepare and submit detailed loan packages to the lender underwriting department for approval or denial
- Client intake & front desk: answer calls/emails, greet visitors, verify IDs, notarize as needed, and route inquiries to the right team member
- File setup & documentation: open new orders in settlement software, collect buyer/seller/lender data, request payoffs/HOA info, and organize all supporting documents
- Scheduling & coordination: manage the closing calendar, confirm dates/times, coordinate with agents, lenders, and attorneys, and send confirmations/reminders
- Earnest money & funds handling: receive and log EMD, issue receipts, ensure timely deposits, and reconcile with accounting
- Office operations & compliance: maintain supplies and closing-room readiness, provide proactive status updates, track SLAs, and uphold ALTA Best Practices and privacy protocols
Qualifications:
- FHA, FHLB, FNMA, or VA loan product knowledge and mortgage lending experience required
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Accounting, finance, or business Associate’s degree preferred - High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2+ years loan processing experience required
- Superb analytical skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
- 2+ years in loan processing, mortgage ops, escrow/closing assistant, or title front-office role with measurable pipeline ownership
- Proven conditions management task lists, follow-ups, and due dates.
- Strong document literacy: closing packages, payoffs, CDs, prelim/HUD, title commitments, tax reports.
- Tech-comfortable: LOS/settlement software, Microsoft 365/Google Suite
- Professional communication phone, email, and in-person with a calm, solutions-first style.
- Reliable transportation for bank runs/courthouse drop-offs between Prattville/Montgomery as needed.
