Job DescriptionJob Summary – Respiratory Therapist (Adult)
- Provide respiratory therapy services to adult patients in a large academic medical center (885 beds, Level 1 Trauma, Chest Pain, and Stroke Center).
- Assignments include ICU and Medical/Surgical floors, based on department needs.
- Care for patients with varied conditions: post-surgical, pneumonia, COPD, asthma, and emergency department cases.
- Minimum 2 years of critical care respiratory therapy experience required (first-time travelers considered).
- Required credentials: NC Respiratory Therapy License, RRT, BLS, and ACLS (CRT accepted but not preferred).
- Must demonstrate strong critical care skills; Level 1 trauma or high-acuity experience preferred.
- Work collaboratively with lead therapists and a supportive team environment.
- Utilize EPIC EMR and department-specific respiratory equipment (Servo U, Servo Air, The Vest, Volara, Aerogen, Heated High Flow, cough assist, etc.).
- Orientation includes hospital NEO and 1-2 days department-specific training.
- Scheduled for 12-hour night shifts (18:30–07:00), with every other weekend required.
- No on-call responsibilities; must be willing to work 75% of holidays.
- Scrub color is pewter (charcoal grey); free parking provided.
