Job DescriptionSalary: TBD

Location: U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona

Qualifications: Mandatory - 3 years experience as an Air Traffic Controller (Terminal) and graduate of FAA or DOD Air Traffic Control Course. Possess appropriate medical and FAA credentials.

Controls military and civilian aircraft in a Visual Flight Rules (VFR) control tower environment. Initiates and issues air traffic control instructionsand clearances for aircraft operating VFR in the vicinity of the airport as outlined in local operating procedures. Observes and reports airportadvisories, critical weather information, and equipment outages. Coordinates Notice to Airman (NOTAMS) actions to advise all users of thestatus of airport facilities. Monitors weather conditions and ensures optimum use of airfield runways and operational facilities. Rendersoperational advice and instruction to airfield users. Provides instruction and assistance to air traffic control personnel. Provides basic andjourneyman training for personnel. Maintains certification requirements. Upon obtaining position and facility certification, recurring training isrequired to maintain proficiency on current air traffic control requirements, and to ensure continued proficiency in each operating position.Completes recurring proficiency examinations. Military experience and Military Flight Records knowledge is a plus!
