Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with at least 2 years of experience, including 1 year in an acute care or hospital setting, for a day shift assignment.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in a pediatric acute care hospital setting
- Day shifts, Monday through Friday, with one Saturday per month from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Assignment may include floating to other affiliated facilities as needed within a 75-mile radius
- Caseload includes both pediatric and adult populations for swallowing and speech-language disorders
- Requires competency in Modified Barium Swallow Studies, Total Laryngectomee care, trach/vent patients, speaking valve use, and dysphagia for both pediatrics and adults
- Manage swallowing and speech-language assessment and therapy for pediatric and adult patients
- May be required to float to other units or facilities based on patient and staffing needs
- Modules and annual education required prior to and during assignment
- Teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration are expected in this role
- Travel pairs allowed, but generally will not be assigned to the same unit
- Dress code includes appropriate attire and adherence to hospital guidelines

- Current California SLP license required if applicable
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of SLP experience with at least 1 year in an acute care or hospital setting
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Study, Total Laryngectomee, trach/vent, and speaking valve required
- Competency in treating dysphagia in pediatric and adult populations required
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
- NICU experience preferred
- Prior travel assignment within the past 12 months required
- Clinical experience in an academic medical center preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster required for consideration; proof or scheduled appointment must be provided
