As a Manufacturing Superintendent, you will be a key member of the site management team, overseeing the press and welding departments, paint department, or assembly department. You will provide leadership in safety, production, materials, equipment, and projects to ensure production is met.

What You’ll Do:

  • Will support and strive toward safety in all facets of the manufacturing facility.
  • Resolve safety problems that arise and complete required paperwork.
  • Ensure shop equipment is tracked, maintained, and available as required.
  • Supervise and direct various employees, including supervisors, machine operators, welders, fitters, assemblers, and material handlers.
  • Prioritize projects and ensure they remain on schedule.
  • Ensure a well-trained and versatile workforce by promoting cross-training and providing necessary tools and training materials.
  • Direct the area supervisors’ departmental objectives, including high-quality, Safety, and Productivity standards.
  • Actively participate in scheduling meetings with operations partners to prioritize work orders, optimum downtime windows, and necessary lead times.
  • Assist with the recruitment and hiring of plant personnel.
  • Support the development and implementation of the management philosophy and vision.
  • Liaise with engineers on area projects and production superintendents on overall workflow.
  • Other assignments as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in engineering, industrial engineering technology, or a related field is preferred; an Associate or technical degree is required.
  • 10 years’ experience managing a workforce of supervisors and hourly technicians in related industries.
  • Welding certificate, highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Possesses a high level of mechanical and ironwork aptitude.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Has experience developing and coaching supervisors.
  • Has experience with KPI tracking.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
