Duration: 14 Weeks
Schedule: 3x12-Hour Night Shifts
Shift Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Hours: 34.5–37.5 Hours per Week
Compensation: $69/hr – $87/hr (Based on Experience)
Employment Type: Contract (Local & Travel Opportunities Available)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The RN will be responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring, patient assessments, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry and medical-surgical experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to telemetry patients during night shifts.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly identify and respond to abnormalities.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing evaluations.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures.
- Monitor patients receiving conscious sedation when applicable.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Respond appropriately to cardiac events, emergencies, and changes in patient condition.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Required QualificationsEducation
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Primary Source Verification of RN License and Registration.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience required.
- Minimum 1 year of Telemetry nursing experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of Phlebotomy experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of Conscious Sedation experience required.
