Electrical Engineer | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $78,000 - $123,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize electrical control systems for manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical failures in production machinery, automation, and plant infrastructure.
  • Ensure all electrical installations, modifications, and systems comply with industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E).
  • Program, maintain, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and SCADA systems.
  • Lead electrical aspects of capital equipment projects, from specification and procurement to installation and commissioning.
  • Develop and maintain accurate electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for electrical equipment to minimize downtime and improve reliability.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development for industrial automation.
  • Strong experience with industrial control systems, instrumentation, and sensor integration in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems and machinery on a production floor.
  • Familiarity with electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) for designing and documenting control panels and wiring.
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA 79) applicable to manufacturing environments.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Advanced PLC programming and industrial automation experience (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens).
  • Experience with industrial robotics programming and integration (e.g., Fanuc, Kuka, ABB).
  • Familiarity with machine vision systems for quality control and guidance.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification/experience.
