Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Kentucky special education teacher license required
  • Experience working with elementary, middle, or high school students in special education settings
  • Strong classroom and behavior management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Adaptability to work with diverse student needs and learning abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction to students with varying abilities, supporting their academic and social-emotional growth
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and related services staff to foster inclusive learning experiences
  • Develop, monitor, and revise IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and goals
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications to maximize student engagement
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies
