Custom Software Systems, Inc. (CSS) is seeking an skilled Agile Coach to support the RAPID (Rapid Agile Product Innovation & Development) program within the Division of Management & Financial Services (MFS). The RAPID program team requires agile coaching services to enhance team effectiveness, facilitate program level planning events, improve strategic alignment, and enable the delivery of cloud-based ERP systems. The Agile Coach will work across multiple product development teams to foster continuous improvement, facilitate collaboration, and strengthen agile maturity across the RAPID program.
Responsibilities
- Agile Coaching & Transformation: Establish new Agile teams and provide interactive initial and ongoing coaching to stakeholders and teams and help existing teams adopt and improve agile methods and practices
- Big Room Planning Facilitation: Design, prepare for, and facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning events including Sprint Planning, iteration planning, and team alignment sessions
- Strategic Planning Support: Collaborate with program leadership to develop strategic roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and align team objectives with business outcomes
- Team Effectiveness & Process Improvement: Conduct ongoing evaluations to ensure the effectiveness of Agile programs and recommend modifications to enhance team performance and delivery capabilities
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Proactively collaborate and communicate with internal/external stakeholders to address Agile knowledge gaps and support program effectiveness
- Training & Knowledge Transfer: Conduct comprehensive training modifications as necessary to build agile capability across the RAPID program and develop operating procedures to enable knowledge transfer
- DevOps Enablement: Coach teams on DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and automation techniques
- Reporting & Assessment: Provide regular assessments of team maturity, program health metrics, and recommendations for continuous improvement and work with the teams to implement improvement recommendations.
- Establishes new Agile teams and provides interactive initial and ongoing coaching to stakeholders and teams.
- Conducts ongoing evaluations to ensure the effectiveness of Agile programs and recommends complex and/or highly comprehensive training modifications as necessary.
- Proactively collaborates and communicates with internal/external stakeholders to address Agile knowledge gaps to support Agile effectiveness.
- Works with teams to become effective and efficient in their use of Agile practices.
- Helps teams to adopt and improve agile methods and practices.

Required Qualifications
- At least 8 years of direct experience in one or more aspects of Information Technology (Software design/development, IT Architecture, Technology or Product Owner/Management, and Quality Assurance)
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Program Level Agile Coach supporting large Program(s) / Agile Release Train(s) with multiple Agile/Product Development Teams
- At least 2 years' experience as a Team Level Agile Coach for Agile/Product Development Teams to include standing up Agile/Product Development Teams
- At least 3 years' experience as a Scrum Coach (Scrum Master), Product Owner or in a Leadership role with Agile/Product Development Teams
- Experience coaching, implementing, and enabling transformation of Agile/Product Development Teams to DevOps Teams, including use of Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) and Automation/Continuous Testing
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience transforming initiatives to deliver lasting change within agencies that focus on delivering value for its customers. Coaches may be required to work across all levels (team/ portfolio/program) to ensure that organizations adopt a pragmatic approach to the way in which they govern delivery and continuous improvement of digital services.
- Experience with ServiceNow ITSM (IT Service Management), Platform Analytics, and Agile Development platforms
- Experience facilitating Big Room Planning/PI Planning events for Agile Release Trains
- Knowledge and experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodologies
- Experience developing and implementing strategic roadmaps for agile programs
- Ability to coach teams on iterative improvement practices and retrospective techniques
- Strong facilitation skills including coaching to Scrum of Scrums, Product Owner Sync, and Inspect and Adapt Workshops
- Experience working with cloud-based ERP systems and supporting digital transformation initiatives
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels
Certificates
- At least one of the following or its equivalent:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) –
- Advanced Certified Scrum Master (ACSM) –
- SAFe Scrum Master
- Agile Certified Scrum Coach (PMI-ACP).
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Science/Technology, Business, Computer Science or Equivalent.
