Staff Accountant

A well-established, Fortune 500 specialty insurance organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting Department. This is a solid opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to gain broad exposure across financial reporting, regulatory filings, and general ledger accounting in a large, complex organization.
The Role
The Staff Accountant will support the Corporate Accounting team with the preparation of financial statements, regulatory filings, and general ledger maintenance. This role offers exposure to both GAAP and statutory accounting in a highly regulated industry.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
- Support quarterly and annual regulatory filing requirements
- Assist with the preparation of annual audited statutory financial statements
- Record journal entries to the general ledger and prepare account reconciliations
- Prepare bank account reconciliations
- Process AP entries for invoice processing
- Support quarterly SEC and management reporting processes
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Solid planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
