Baylor University seeks to fill two tenure-track positions within the Department of Art & Art History at the Assistant Professor level effective Fall 2024. We are searching for two collaborative faculty members in a studio art discipline with experience in drawing and 2D design. The Department of Art & Art History is particularly interested in faculty with a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and drawing as a discipline.

Qualifications
Candidates should possess an MFA in a studio art discipline by the time of appointment. Candidate should have university-level teaching experience with an emphasis on drawing from direct observation and the elements and principles essential to 2D design. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching drawing and 2D design classes within the foundations area of our department. The ability to work collaboratively with other foundations faculty to maintain the studios and in developing a consistent curriculum is essential. A strong record of creative scholarship and evidence of an active exhibition record is preferred. The ability to seek external funding is strongly encouraged to support research. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in one or more of the following: undergraduate mentoring; engagement with programs directed toward first-generation students; direction and supervision of undergraduate research.
