The Plumber will work closely with the Property Maintenance Manager and team to maintain and repair Mental Health Association Oklahoma (Association) plumbing equipment that does not and does require a license issued by the City of Tulsa or the State of Oklahoma.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures.
  • Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals.
  • Follow building plans and blueprints.
  • Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
  • Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.
  • Light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling, and electrical work as required.
  • Measure, cut, and bend plumbing material including pipe.
  • Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings.
  • Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper.
  • Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements.
  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • State plumbing license.
  • 5+ years as a plumber.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license.

WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • No environmental hazards are encountered in the normal performance of job duties.
  • Work requires a flexible work schedule due to internal and external meetings. Occasional travel may be required; must have reliable transportation.
  • This position requires the ability to work overtime on weekdays and weekends and may be asked to always respond to emergency calls.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards of the site and staff behavior.
  • Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more).
  • Ability to safely and properly use office equipment.
