This contract position offers an opportunity to provide essential support in a school environment located in Amherst, MA. The role focuses on assisting students as a Paraprofessional, with an emphasis on working effectively with diverse behaviors and supporting educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or group assistance to students under the supervision of certified staff
- Implement behavior support strategies and assist with behavior management
- Collect and document data related to student progress and behavior accurately and consistently
- Support classroom activities and contribute to a positive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet student needs and goals
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role, especially within a school setting, is preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing behaviors and implementing behavioral interventions
- Knowledgeable in data collection methods and maintaining accurate records
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and staff
- Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to fostering a supportive educational environment
Position Details:
- Contract role with a commitment of 30 hours per week
