Shipping & Receiving Clerk | Battle Creek, MI

Salary Range: $43,000 - $63,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and log incoming shipments of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, noting any discrepancies or damages.
• Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling products according to customer orders or internal requisitions.
• Load and unload trucks and containers using appropriate equipment, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of all incoming and outgoing goods using the company's inventory management system.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse or receiving area, ensuring a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
• Coordinate with transportation carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, and track shipment status.
• Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs forms.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and software
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts - certification may be required)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
• Good organizational and time management skills

Bonus Qualifications

• - Forklift certification
• - Experience with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• - Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
• - Basic understanding of import/export documentation
