Join Metalcraft's Metal Team as a Machine Operator on our 2nd shift team!

Are you passionate about working with machines and setting up tooling? This rare opportunity of 2nd shift production at Metalcraft, an ESOP company with their headquarters in Mason City, Iowa, might be perfect for you!

This position is 2nd Shift. Hours are: Monday - Thursday 3:30 PM until 2:00 AM. This will most likely be a long term 2nd shift position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Punch Press Operation: Operate both mechanical and electronic feed punch presses, ensuring smooth and efficient production.
• Die Setting: Set up and adjust dies according to operating procedures, ensuring precision and quality in every task.
• Kick Press & Hand Operations: Set up and operate kick presses and hand tools, contributing to various stages of production.
• Quality Production: Consistently produce high-quality work in an efficient and timely manner to meet customer needs and maintain Metalcraft's standards.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery as per established procedures to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Backup Shear Operator: Step in as a shear operator when needed, showcasing your versatility and readiness to support the team.
• Standard Work Procedures: Write and maintain standard operating procedures, ensuring clarity and consistency in all processes.
• Cross-Training & Flexibility: Act as a floater in areas where you are trained and cross-trained, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to meet customer needs.

Special Job Characteristics:

• Measuring Devices: Use measuring devices accurately to ensure precision in all tasks.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand or sit for long periods, maintaining focus and productivity.
• Hand Tools & Machinery: Proficiency in working with hand tools and machinery, showcasing your technical skills.
• Lifting: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, demonstrating physical capability.
• Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality work and adherence to specifications.
• Flexibility: Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing customer needs and production demands.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work well within a team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues that may arise during production.
• Positive Temperament - Able to work through challenges in a positive, solutions focused, and team centric manner.

Experience & Skills:

• Print Reading: Ability to read and interpret prints is highly desirable but not needed.
• Technical Proficiency: Basic computer knowledge to navigate and utilize software for machine operation and maintenance.
• Machinery Experience: Prior experience working with machinery is welcomed but not required. We value a willingness to learn and grow.
• Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure precision and quality in all tasks.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes as needed.
• Previous experience in working 2nd shift hours is helpful, but not necessary, please note, this is intended to be a long term 2nd shift position.
