Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available within a K-12 school setting serving elementary, middle, and high school students. This contract position spans the school year and is located in the Aurora, CO area, supporting a diverse student population across special education and general education environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing interpretation services across grade levels: elementary, middle, and high school.
- Supporting students with a full range of abilities, from mild to severe needs.
- Collaborating with educators and support staff to facilitate effective communication.
- Delivering on-site services exclusive to this role, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
Qualifications and experience:
- Active CDE (Colorado Department of Education) Certification is required.
- Possess an EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher.
- Experience interpreting within K-12 educational settings, particularly with a broad range of special education needs.
- Commitment to working onsite exclusively; virtual or voiceover interpreting is not applicable.
Location:
- Aurora, Colorado, with placements across elementary, middle, and high school levels.
