Lucy School, an arts-integrated, nature-centered independent school in beautiful Middletown, Maryland, is seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School Math Teacher for grades 5–8. This position is ideal for an educator who brings both strong content knowledge and a creative, student-centered approach to teaching mathematics—particularly an educator capable of teaching pre-Algebra and Algebra I.
This position has a base salary range of $41K - $43K but with added light after-school classes, such as Homework Help, the additional pay could raise the salary to $50K or more.
Who We’re Looking For:
You are a teacher who:
- Has experience teaching upper elementary and middle school math (Grades 5–8).
- Is comfortable teaching Algebra I and supporting a range of math learners.
- Believes in integrating the arts and outdoor experiences into academic learning.
- Sees math not just as numbers and operations, but as a creative, relevant, and exciting subject.
- Enjoys working in a small school setting where teachers collaborate across disciplines and grade levels.
- Embraces the joys (and mud!) of nature-based education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience teaching math at the upper elementary or middle school level.
- Familiarity with or interest in arts integration and outdoor learning.
