Optician – Desai Eye Care (Lafayette, LA)

Desai Eye Care is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced, personable Optician to join our patient-focused team. If you enjoy helping people see clearly, feel confident in their eyewear, and have a passion for delivering a high-quality experience, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
- Guide patients in selecting frames and lenses that fit their prescription needs, lifestyle, and personal style
- Perform precise measurements, including PDs, seg heights, and frame adjustments
- Verify prescriptions and inspect finished eyewear for accuracy
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and eyewear care
- Work closely with our physicians and clinical team to ensure seamless patient flow
- Handle eyewear orders, troubleshoot lab issues, and maintain inventory
- Provide an excellent, friendly, and professional patient experience every day
Compensation:
$16 - $18 hourly

- Cross-train as needed to help with other office tasks when needed
Qualifications:
What We’re Looking For
- At least 2 years of optician or optical experience required
- Strong understanding of lens types, materials, and coatings
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Team mentality, open mindset
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine desire to help patients
- Organization skills
- Experience with electronic medical records and optical ordering platforms is a plus
- Certification is welcome but not required
