This opportunity is for a dedicated educator to provide general education science instruction to students in grades 6 through 12. Situated in Billings, MT, this K-12 school setting offers a unique environment with small class sizes, allowing focused and personalized teaching. The position is contract to hire, with a typical school year schedule from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Earth Science, Physical Science, and Biology classes incorporating technology to enhance student learning.
- Manage a caseload of 8-12 students, with some classes as small as 4-5 students due to a variety of course offerings including Vocational Agriculture, Woodworking, Physical Education, Art, Music, Business Education, Technology, Social Studies, Mathematics, Special Education, and English.
- Support students in both Day Treatment and Residential settings, contributing to a supportive learning atmosphere for approximately 160-170 students.
- Participate in training provided by the schools department on Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP), focusing on de-escalation techniques and safe intervention strategies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience teaching science at the middle or high school level (grades 6-12).
- Ability to effectively integrate technology into science instruction.
- Willingness to plete certification in Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP).
- Strong classroom management and munication skills.
