A. T. Still University is seeking a non-exempt, full time ITS Clinical Support Services Specialist on the St. Louis, Missouri Campus. This position reports to the IT Support Services Manager. This position is considered a second tier position and technology leader within Support Services. In addition to performing day-to-day technical work similar to a Support Services technician, staff in this position troubleshoot and resolve Level II issues. This position is the main technical contact for the St. Louis Dental Clinic. Staff in this position also have the responsibility of specializing in certain Level II activities such as account management, telephony, customer satisfaction, classroom A/V support, and desktop development and maintenance. Persons in this position may be assigned to assist with some duties of the Support Services Manager as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform specialized duties as mentioned above.
- Act as Level II response to university computing problems/needs.
- Provide main technology support presence for St. Louis clinic and coordinate with other IT support staff.
- Provide escalated support and advice to computer technicians Maintain standards and keep abreast of shifts. in technology or trends in individual specialty.
- Maintain documentation for individual specialty.
- Act as on-call technician on rotating basis.
- Respond to help desk and to escalated technology service calls.
- Act as point of contact for clinical technology issues.
- Maintain standards in individual specialty.
- Advise Support Services Manager of trends or changes within each specialty.
- May be required to provide on-call and weekend support on a rotating basis.
- Assist with ATSU’s computer training program.
- Assist in setting levels of expectation regarding services provided.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and Experience
- Two year college certificate or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products.
- Have exemplary hardware troubleshooting skills and have strong knowledge in specialty assigned.
- Three to five year experience.
- Experience in customer service relationships.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Must have strong communication skills using a composed, helpful attitude.
- Must demonstrate leadership qualities.
- Must be able to deal with a number of tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently with little instruction.
Special Characteristics or Personality Traits
- Possess strong skill and leadership in assigned specialty.
- Ability to analyze and resolve user needs and problems.
- Ability to interpret and apply information from manuals.
- Ability to communicate on technical issues with individuals possessing varying degrees of computer familiarity.
- This person should be able to plan, organize and prioritize work.
